The best way to Spice Up Your Apple Crisp
There is a lot you may do to spice up an average apple crisp recipe. The addition of another fruit is a reasonably typical variation. Two preferred additions are the peach and the blackberry. Instead of all apples you can use both apples and cranberries at a ratio of 3 cups to 2 for a delicious apple cranberry crisp.
Once you are confident you know how to make an apple crisp, you could experiment with the apples you use. If you prefer a more tart apple crisp, use all Granny Smith apples. You can also use 6 Granny Smith combined with a crisp sweet apple like Gala or Braeburn.
