Pears in Red Wine

Poached Pears


1 Cup Red Wine
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Cup Hot Water
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
2 Shakes of Powdered Nutmeg
1 Peeled Pear Per Person


1. Place all Ingredients in a Deep Saucepan
2. Boil Liquid, until Water Evaporates and forms Syrup
3. Serve each Pear in a dish
4. Add a Dollop of Fresh Cream or Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
5. Drizzle with 1-3 Spoons of Syrup from the saucepan.
