Tea Cake with Apple














Sift into a Bowl:

1 Cup SR Flour
½ Cup White Sugar

Warm in a Saucepan: 

60g (2oz) Butter
½ Cup Milk
Natural Vanilla Essence


1.    Beat one Egg and add to Bowl
2.    Add Warmed liquid into Bowl
3.    Mix thoroughly by hand, until light and airy
4.    Line a 20cm cake tin with baking paper
5.    Transfer mixture into cake tin
6.    Peel and Slice 2 Green Apples
7.    Place Apple slices on top, lying down on their side
8.    Sprinkle Apple with Cinnamon and White Sugar to form a glaze
9.    Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30mins until Golden on top

    What is 60g of Butter.  I live in America and I don't understand that measurement, and I would like to make this.  It sounds sooo good!

    Also is that to bake at 350F?

  1. Hi Katie, I've just added a conversion chart so you can translate between Metric and Imperial, you can find it here. 350F would be about right. This cake is fluffy but moist inside, and the glazed apple and cinnamon on top is delicious! Let me know if you enjoy it 🙂
